Estamos en el Pizza Hut

The team has arrived in Honduras safely with all bags accounted for! The landing was... Well, interesting to say the least. (It appeared that the wings were going to hit the power lines because we were so close.) We have met up with Adam, Luis and Nancy to grab some lunch at... you guessed it... Pizza Hut!!! After lunch we will head to Hotel MacArthur to rest up for the days ahead! Shout out to all our followers for checking in on us, make sure to leave us some love in the comments!

On Honduras-bound second leg!

Here we go!

22 of us all buckled up ready for an ontime departure from ORD. After one stop in Miami, we should be in Tegucigalpa by 11:15am! So far, so good! A little confusion about our bag allowance (only 1 checked not 2), but a creative process & flexible students allowed us to pay ($40/each) for only 7 of the extra 14 bags. Spirits are up & rest is on the way... here we go!

First Prayer Request:  safe travels

We leave tonight around midnight from Blackhawk Church and head to Chicago for a 5:30 AM flight to Miami.  And then on to Tegucigalpa, landing at 11:15 AM Thurs. (we'll be in the same time zone - Central).

Packing 'Party' on Monday

Bags were packed, loaded and weighed on Monday afternoon as the team got one step closer to heading south.  The Sports/Games team (which I half-lead) still has some gathering to do, but I'm sure they'll come through with their stuff tonight.  The Craft team was amazingly prepared as was Skits/Songs/Candy team - btw, someone should double check that candy supply . . .

High School Honduras Team

Count down has begun!  Only 3 days away!  Above is a pic of the team at one of their prep retreats - team bonding and getting supplies ready to head to Honduras - at Heather and Dan's house.  

Bags are being packed to get ready for the packing party on Monday.  Crafts, sock puppets, soccer balls are all being gathered for their journey to Honduras early Thursday AM.
